The Honda CR-V and Ford Escape have some key differentiating characteristics as far as ride and interior quality, though price, size and gas mileage are fairly similar. There is only one other spec that's missing. CRV has some of the highest resale values. Which means that you don't have a value drop in this car after 2-3 years. Its decline is linear. Even if you pay a bit more upfront you might end up saving a bit in the end. And also CRV is a modern machine while ford has 10 years old platform.
